According to statistics released by the Central Electricity Authority, Uttar Pradesh (UP) has topped the list for adding transmission lines of 1,460 Circuit km by state transmission utilities in FY24. UPPTCL, founded in 1999 and headquartered in Lucknow, also led in FY23 with the addition of 1,447 Circuit km of transmission lines, showcasing its consistent efforts in enhancing the state's transmission infrastructure.

The Sela Tunnel, located in Arunachal Pradesh, has been acknowledged as India's highest tunnel by the International Book of Honour. This tunnel, spanning 2.598 kilometres and situated at an altitude of 13,000 feet on the Tezpur-Tawang Road, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the world's longest twin-lane tunnel on March 9.
