The Sikkim High Court registry has set a pioneering precedent by implementing a menstrual leave policy for female employees, making it the first High Court in India to do so. Under this policy, women employees at the Sikkim High Court Registry are entitled to take menstrual leave for 2-3 days each month. This progressive step reflects the court's commitment to gender equality and the well-being of its staff, setting a commendable example for workplaces across the nation.

The Gahirmatha Beach in Kendrapara district of Odisha is the largest breeding ground for olive ridley sea turtles in India. It is part of the Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary and was designated as the Gahirmatha Marine Wildlife Sanctuary in September 1997.
