Haryana launched the 11-week-long ‘Swachh Kurukshetra – Mera Kurukshetra, Mera Abhimaan’ mission under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The campaign, held from August 24 to November 7, 2025, aims to transform Kurukshetra into the cleanest and most beautiful city in India. The launch event took place at Gita Gyan Sansthanam, Kurukshetra, where citizens and officials pledged their commitment to cleanliness. A campaign poster was also unveiled. This initiative is part of the larger Haryana Shehr Swachhta Abhiyan – 2025, designed to promote sustainable cleanliness practices and foster civic pride across the state.

Uttar Pradesh marked a significant milestone in India’s clean energy journey with the inauguration of its first Green Hydrogen plant in Gorakhpur by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Developed by Torrent Power and Torrent Gas, the plant is designed to produce 72 tonnes of green hydrogen annually. This hydrogen will be blended with natural gas and distributed to households, CNG stations, and industries, making it the largest blending initiative in India’s City Gas Distribution sector. The project not only enhances the adoption of green hydrogen but also aligns with India’s larger vision of sustainable energy and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

Kerala has been declared India’s first fully digitally literate state after successfully completing Phase I of the Digi Kerala project. The initiative reached 1.5 crore individuals across 83.46 lakh families, identifying 21.88 lakh digitally illiterate persons and training 21.87 lakh of them with a remarkable 99.98% success rate. What makes this achievement historic is the inclusiveness of the program, ensuring participation across age groups, including a 104-year-old trainee. By leveraging grassroots governance and community-led training, Kerala has empowered its citizens to access e-governance portals, welfare schemes, and digital financial services, effectively bridging the digital divide.

Exercise Samanvay Shakti 2025 was initiated by the Indian Army in the Tinsukia district of Assam. This 10-day long military-civil integration exercise is aimed at enhancing coordination between the armed forces, state agencies, and civil administration. The participation of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, police, intelligence agencies, and district administration reflects its holistic approach toward strengthening cooperation and mutual understanding. Conducting such exercises in Assam also highlights the region’s strategic importance and the need for cohesive action in managing security, communication, and disaster response mechanisms effectively for both military and civil purposes.

The 1,200MW Kalai-II hydroelectric project is located in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh, where a public hearing was conducted by the state’s Pollution Control Board to secure environmental clearance. With an investment of around Rs 14,000 crore, the project is being developed by THDC India Ltd and is designed as a run-of-river with pondage hydroelectric scheme. It is expected to generate free power worth Rs 318 crore annually, contributing significantly to both the state’s energy output and its revenue. This project highlights Arunachal Pradesh’s vast hydropower potential and its importance in India’s renewable energy landscape.
