Zeenat, a tiger translocated from Maharashtra’s Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, was moved to Similipal in Odisha to enhance genetic diversity. Andhra Pradesh is pioneering India’s first statewide skill census, aiming to map skill gaps and strengths among its workforce. Building on the success of a pilot project in Mangalagiri, this initiative will cover 3.5 crore working-age individuals across 1.8 crore households. By aligning existing skills with industry demands and addressing youth unemployment, the census seeks to boost job creation and economic development. Innovative measures like linking Skill IDs to Aadhaar will enhance accessibility to skilling opportunities, showcasing Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to addressing employment challenges through targeted interventions.

Shyam Singh Rana, the Haryana Agriculture Minister, launched the 21st livestock census at the government veterinary hospital in Radaur, Haryana. The livestock census, which is conducted every five years, aims to collect detailed data on domestic animals and poultry through a state-wide door-to-door survey. Initiated in 1919, this census plays a crucial role in helping the government formulate and implement policies for the livestock sector, making it an essential tool for agricultural development and planning in the state.

Uttar Pradesh is set to become India's top producer of cow milk, with an annual production of 5.29 million tonnes. The state's government, under Yogi Adityanath, focuses on cow welfare, including indigenous breed conservation, vaccination, and breed improvement. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh has invested in veterinary colleges, such as the ₹228 crore Gorakhpur Veterinary College, to further enhance dairy production and support sustainable agriculture. These efforts aim to position Uttar Pradesh as a leader in milk production within the country.

Kerala ranks fifth in employability in India, with an impressive employability rate of 71%, as reported in the India Skills Report 2025. The state stands out for its balanced approach to education and skill development through initiatives like the Additional Skill Acquisition Program (ASAP). Kerala excels particularly in computer and English skills, and its cities, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi, are highly favoured for work opportunities. Additionally, the state ranks second in employability among youth aged 18-21, reflecting its strong workforce development programs and educational standards.
