Bihar has taken a significant step in boosting its logistics infrastructure with the inauguration of its first Dry Port and Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Bihta, near Patna. This facility will provide efficient warehousing, customs clearance, and multi-modal transport services, streamlining import and export operations for businesses in Bihar. Strategically located, the ICD is well-connected by rail to major ports such as Kolkata, Haldia, Visakhapatnam, and Mundra. Vedanta has announced an investment of over ₹1 lakh crore in Rajasthan, targeting sectors such as zinc, oil and gas, and renewable energy. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has fulfilled his first poll promise by announcing free dialysis services for chronic kidney patients in all government hospitals. The Indian Coast Guard held the coastal security exercise ‘Sagar Kavach’ on October 16-17, 2024, across Gujarat and the Union Territory of Daman & Diu. The exercise was coordinated by the Coast Guard Regional Headquarters in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This was the second edition of the exercise for the year, and its purpose was to enhance maritime and coastal security preparedness in the region.
