The 19th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides will be hosted by Uttar Pradesh from November 23–29, 2025, in Lucknow’s Vrindavan Scheme. The event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 24. This is not the first time Uttar Pradesh is hosting; it also organised the 4th edition back in 1964, marking a long historical association with scouting activities. The Jamboree serves as a platform for thousands of scouts and guides across India to come together, share skills, and strengthen the spirit of unity, discipline, and service, making it a significant national event.

On September 22, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated infrastructure projects worth ₹5,100 crore in Arunachal Pradesh, marking a significant step in regional development and clean energy progress. These projects include major hydropower initiatives in Shi Yomi district, extensive road networks, upgraded healthcare facilities, modern fire safety systems, and a convention centre in Tawang. The hydropower projects are designed to boost India’s renewable energy capacity and create thousands of jobs, positioning Arunachal Pradesh as a key contributor to the nation’s clean energy mission. This development also strengthens connectivity and economic growth in the Northeast region of India.

Dhordo, located in Kutch, Gujarat, was dedicated as India’s fourth solar powered village by PM Modi during the ‘Samudra Se Samriddhi’ programme in Bhavnagar. This initiative ensures that every residential electricity connection in Dhordo benefits from solar energy under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Gujarat has been a pioneer in promoting solar villages, with Modhera, Sukhi, and Masali being the other solar powered villages in the state. Dhordo’s recognition as the ‘Best Tourism Village’ by the UNWTO highlights its potential for sustainable tourism alongside renewable energy adoption, making it a model for green development in India.

Tamil Nadu became the first state in India to launch ID cards for Women Self-Help Group (SHG) members, a major step toward grassroots women empowerment. The initiative, launched by Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on September 16, 2025, provides economic and social benefits, including free travel up to 100 km on government buses, discounts on products from state-run enterprises, and easier access to welfare schemes. Over five lakh SHGs in the state are expected to benefit, strengthening financial inclusion and legitimizing women-led economic activity. The program aligns with existing women-centric initiatives like Magalir Vidiyal Payanam and Magalir Urimai Thogai, ensuring streamlined access to benefits.

Uttarakhand hosted the Asian Cadet Cup India-2025 in Haldwani, marking the first-ever international fencing event held in India. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the tournament on September 19, 2025, at Manaskhand Hall, Indira Gandhi International Sports Stadium. The event attracted over 250 athletes, including 150 Indian competitors and participants from countries like Tajikistan, Syria, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Indonesia. The state government has launched major sports initiatives, including the first sports university and women’s sports college in Haldwani, investments in world-class infrastructure, and a sports quota in government jobs, signaling Uttarakhand’s emergence as a growing hub for athletic excellence.
