Sarvesh Kushare won the silver medal in the men's high jump at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow with a best jump of 2.25 metres. He cleared the height on his final attempt, demonstrating remarkable composure under pressure. Although he could not clear 2.28 metres, his performance earned him the first major multi-sport medal of his career. The achievement also surpassed India's previous best result of a bronze medal in the event at the Commonwealth Games. Earlier, Sarvesh had set a new Indian national record of 2.31 metres at the Inter-State Athletics Championships, confirming his place among the country's finest high jumpers.
