Spain won the FIFA World Cup 2026 after defeating Argentina 1–0 in extra time in the final held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Substitute Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in the 106th minute, securing Spain's second men's FIFA World Cup title after their first triumph in 2010. Spain also created history by becoming the first nation to hold both the men's and women's FIFA World Cup titles simultaneously. Under coach Luis de la Fuente, the team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and set a new defensive record by conceding only one goal during the entire competition.
