India is set to host the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships for the first time, marking a historic moment in the country’s sporting landscape. The event will be held from September 27 to October 5 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. To celebrate the 100-day countdown, India launched the event’s official logo and mascot, Viraaj a young elephant with a blade prosthesis representing strength, resilience, and inclusion. Over 100 nations are expected to participate in this 12th edition, which includes 186 medal events. The Paralympic Committee of India is overseeing all preparations, emphasizing world-class facilities and inclusive sports promotion.
