The 69th National School Games began in Jammu & Kashmir, organised by the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports of the region. The event brought together 30 teams representing different States and Union Territories, competing across six venues in various sports such as Football, Wushu, Taekwondo, and Table Tennis. The inauguration was carried out by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, highlighting Jammu & Kashmir’s commitment to promoting youth sports and fostering national-level athletic talent.

The BWF World Junior Championships 2025 are being hosted in Guwahati, Assam, from October 6 to 19. This marks the return of the prestigious tournament to India after 17 years, with the previous edition held in Pune in 2008. The event features 36 national teams competing in the Suhandinata Cup (mixed team event) and the Eye-Level Cup (individual events including singles, doubles, and mixed doubles). Sandip Sanjay Sargar and Sandeep Chaudhary achieved a historic one-two finish in the Men’s Javelin Throw F44 event at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships. Sargar secured the gold medal with a personal best throw of 62.82 m, while Chaudhary earned the silver with a season-best of 62.67 m. The 12th World Para Athletics Championship 2025 is being hosted in New Delhi at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. This marks India’s first time hosting the prestigious global para-sport event, which features over 1,000 athletes from more than 100 nations competing across 186 medal events. The championship, held from September 27 to October 5, 2025, is a major milestone for Indian para sports and serves as a qualifying event for the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics. New Delhi’s selection underscores India’s growing role in organizing large-scale international sporting events.
