India hosted the 28th Meeting of the Committee of Senior Officials (CSO) of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) in New Delhi on June 15–16, 2026, during its chairship tenure for the 2025–27 period. The meeting focused on shaping the next IORA Action Plan for 2028–2032 and addressed key regional priorities such as maritime security, the blue economy, disaster risk management, and sustainable development. Discussions also highlighted the growth of women’s participation in India’s maritime sector and the ‘Sagar Mein Samman’ initiative. IORA, established in 1997 and headquartered in Ebene, Mauritius, promotes cooperation among countries bordering the Indian Ocean.
