The 16th Conference of Parties (COP16) under the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) is being held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from December 2 to 13, 2024. This marks the first time a West Asian nation is hosting the event, coinciding with the UNCCD’s 30th anniversary. Representatives from 197 nations, including India, are participating to address global desertification and land degradation under the theme "Our Land. Our Future."
