Soundala village in the Ahilyanagar district of Maharashtra has officially declared itself caste-free by adopting the principle “Amchi jaat manav,” meaning “my caste is humanity.” The decision was unanimously approved by the gram sabha, reflecting collective agreement among the villagers.
