India's rank on the Global Pension Index 2023 has declined to 45th position out of 47 countries. The index is published by Mercer and the CFA Institute and assesses the adequacy, sustainability, and integrity of retirement income systems around the world. India's score on the index has improved slightly from 44.4 in 2022 to 45.9 in 2023. However, its rank has fallen due to the inclusion of two new countries in the index, Thailand and Vietnam.
