The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) was established by the Government of India on August 24, 1984. This premier telecom research and development centre aims to revolutionize the telecom sector by developing cutting-edge technologies tailored to Indian conditions. C-DOT received the prestigious 'Champion' award at the WSIS+20 Forum High-Level Event 2024 for its project “Mobile-Enabled Disaster Resilience through Cell Broadcast Emergency Alerting,” under the AI, C-7, E-environment category. This recognition highlights C-DOT's commitment to leveraging technology for societal impact, particularly in disaster management and emergency preparedness.

The Uttarakhand government organized India's first-ever astro-tourism event called 'Nakshatra Sabha' in Mussoorie, the 'Queen of Hills', on June 1 and 2, 2024. This initiative aims to promote astro-tourism in the state, attracting astronomy enthusiasts, adventurers, and travellers to marvel at the wonders of the universe while enjoying Uttarakhand's natural beauty.

This project aimed at digitizing and preserving documents of the Indian diaspora in Oman, dating as far back as 1838. Over 7,000 documents in multiple languages were digitized as part of this initiative, highlighting the collaboration between India and Oman in preserving historical records.
