NTPC commissioned a 160 MW solar capacity in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, as part of its Bhainsara solar project. This project is part of NTPC's effort to expand its renewable energy portfolio. The project is managed by NTPC REL, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Ltd. With this addition, NTPC's total installed capacity now stands at 76,294 MW. Jaisalmer, known for its sunny climate, is a strategic location for solar energy projects, making it ideal for NTPC's solar expansion.

Cyclone 'Asna,' forming in the northeastern Arabian Sea, is posing a significant threat to Gujarat, particularly the Kutch district, with heavy rain and strong winds. The cyclone has the potential to intensify and move towards Pakistan as well. The name "Asna," meaning "the one to be acknowledged or praised" in Urdu, was provided by Pakistan. Gwalior is set to host the third Regional Industry Conclave on August 28, 2024, with the aim of attracting investments to Madhya Pradesh. The government has reduced the maximum time for resolving citizen grievances to 21 days, down from the previous 60 days under the UPA administration. This change is part of an effort to enhance the responsiveness and efficiency of the Central Public Grievances Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS). By shortening the grievance resolution timeline, the government aims to improve citizen service and accountability, reflecting its commitment to more effective and timely resolution of public complaints.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated a shooting range named after Olympic bronze medallist Manu Bhaker in Gwalior. The range is located at the historic Jiwaji Club, which has been in existence for 125 years. The newly inaugurated facility includes 10-meter air pistol and rifle ranges, aimed at enhancing shooting sports infrastructure in the city. The dedication of the range coincided with Bhaker's success at the Paris Olympics, where she won two individual bronze medals.
