The Sagarmanthan forum, South Asia’s largest maritime event, began in New Delhi and was organized by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW) in collaboration with the Observer Research Foundation (ORF). This forum aims to promote knowledge sharing to transform the blue economy while emphasizing inclusive growth and sustainable practices. It focuses on creating a resilient maritime future through actionable insights, reflecting India’s commitment to advancing the global maritime sector.

Article 124 of the Indian Constitution outlines the provisions for the appointment of the Chief Justice of India and other Supreme Court judges. According to Clause (2) of this Article, the President appoints these judges. Additionally, Article 124(3) specifies the qualifications required to become a Supreme Court judge, including citizenship, judicial experience, or recognition as a distinguished jurist. The Article also addresses the removal process, requiring proven misbehaviour or incapacity and a special majority in both Houses of Parliament.
