The theme for the 2025 International Day of Yoga (IDY) is "Yoga for One Earth, One Health," as announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This theme emphasizes holistic health, focusing on the connection between personal well-being and environmental sustainability. Celebrated annually on June 21 since 2015, IDY was established by the UN in 2014, with each year’s theme highlighting the diverse benefits of yoga. The 2025 theme underscores the role of yoga in fostering both individual health and global ecological balance.

India’s ranking in the SDG index for 2024 has improved to 109th out of 166 countries. This reflects the country’s progress in achieving sustainable development through various initiatives and policy reforms. The SDG index measures progress across 17 interconnected goals, including poverty reduction, gender equality, and climate action. India’s improvement is driven by enhanced performance at both the national and state levels, with notable advancements in areas like health, education, and renewable energy. However, challenges remain in areas like inequality and strong institutions, which require continuous efforts.

The fourth 25T Bollard Pull Tug Yuvan was inducted at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam. This tug, part of a contract with M/s Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd, is indigenously designed to support the berthing, un-berthing, and manoeuvring of Naval ships and submarines. It also assists in fire-fighting and limited Search and Rescue (SAR) operations. The induction ceremony was attended by senior naval officials, including Cmde Rajeev John, General Manager (Refit). Visakhapatnam's strategic naval dockyard location made it the ideal site for this important addition.

The Ministry of Rural Development has partnered with UNICEF YuWaah to create livelihood opportunities for 35 lakh rural women. This collaboration focuses on skill development, employment, and entrepreneurship programs. Key initiatives include “Computer Didi Centers” and “Didi ki Dukan” in five states, with plans to expand nationwide. Additionally, a “Youth Hub” has been introduced to promote women entrepreneurs and enhance job opportunities. UNICEF’s involvement highlights its commitment to supporting youth and women’s empowerment globally.
