Justice Surya Kant assumed office as the 53rd Chief Justice of India on November 24, 2025, in a ceremony administered by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. With a distinguished judicial career spanning decades, he has served in key positions including Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court and judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court before his elevation to the Supreme Court in 2019. His tenure is set to run until February 2027. He is known for his involvement in several landmark constitutional cases, advocacy for judicial reforms, and emphasis on enhancing access to justice through technology, mediation, and institutional strengthening.

The National One Health Mission Assembly 2025 is centered around the theme “One Earth, One Health, One Future.” This theme reflects a holistic approach that recognises the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. By bringing together ministries, researchers, and experts from various disciplines, the event aims to strengthen collaborative strategies for managing health risks that arise from ecological changes, zoonotic diseases, and environmental disruptions. Goa served as the venue for the inauguration of the WAVES Film Bazaar 2025, held alongside the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Panaji. The event, inaugurated by Dr. L Murugan on 20 November 2025, is one of South Asia’s most significant film industry platforms, bringing together filmmakers, producers, distributors, festival programmers, and financiers. As the 19th edition of the Film Bazaar, it offered global opportunities for Indian creators through co-production markets, screenwriters’ labs, viewing rooms, and industry masterclasses. Hosting this major event in Goa underscores the state’s long-standing importance as India’s cultural and cinematic hub, especially during IFFI.

India holds the 23rd rank in the Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) 2026, reflecting a significant drop of 13 positions from the previous year. This decline resulted largely from the country’s lack of a national coal phase-out plan, which affected its overall standing. The CCPI evaluates 63 countries along with the EU across key indicators such as greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy adoption, energy use, and climate policy. Together, these regions account for about 90% of global emissions. India’s shift from a high to medium performer underscores the challenges it faces in accelerating its transition to cleaner energy pathways.

IIT Delhi is the location where India Post introduced its first Gen Z-themed Post Office, reflecting a shift toward modernizing postal services for younger, tech-savvy users. The revamped Campus Post Office includes features such as Wi-Fi zones, vibrant graffiti and artwork created by the institute’s Fine Arts Society, and QR-based parcel booking systems that offer convenient Speed Post discounts for students. This initiative is part of a broader nationwide plan to update 46 campus Post Offices across major educational institutions, aiming to make postal facilities more appealing, accessible, and relevant to the evolving needs of today’s youth.
