The Government of India has standardized the celebration of Ayurveda Day to be observed on September 23 each year. This marks a departure from the earlier practice of aligning it with Dhanteras, a festival based on the lunar calendar, which resulted in a shifting date each year. The choice of September 23 aligns with the autumnal equinox, symbolizing balance and harmony—core principles in Ayurveda. The UN Global Road Safety Week, being held from 12 to 18 May 2025, marks the 8th edition of this global initiative. This year's campaign focuses on making walking and cycling safer, emphasizing the urgent need for improved infrastructure for non-motorized road users. With pedestrians and cyclists accounting for over 25% of global road traffic deaths, the initiative brings attention to the importance of designing urban spaces that prioritize safety and accessibility.
