The ₹4,000-crore loan for Haryana’s Jal Sanrakshit Haryana Water Security Project was approved by the World Bank to support sustainable water management and irrigation development in the state. The project aims to improve water conservation, modernise canals, enhance groundwater recharge, promote treated wastewater reuse, and increase irrigation efficiency. Haryana faces significant challenges such as groundwater depletion, waterlogging, and rising agricultural water demand.
