NTPC Ltd signed a cooperation agreement with Africa50, an infrastructure investor, on October, 2026, to identify and develop power-generation projects and promote cross-border electricity trading across Africa. Under the partnership, NTPC will assess project feasibility, manage engineering activities, and develop technical solutions. Africa50 will oversee project financing, investment structuring, and coordination with government stakeholders. The collaboration aims to establish commercially viable power projects and strengthen electricity trade between African nations. NTPC also plans to expand its total power-generation capacity to 149 GW by 2032, including 60 GW of renewable energy capacity. Its existing installed capacity exceeds 91.5 GW across conventional and renewable energy sources.
