Airbus delivered the first C-295 transport aircraft to the Indian Air Force (IAF) on September 13, 2023. The IAF has ordered a total of 56 C-295 aircraft, of which 16 will be delivered in flyaway condition from Spain and the remaining 40 will be manufactured and assembled in India by Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL). The first Indian-made C-295 is expected to roll out of the TASL facility in Vadodara in September 2026.
