Apple and Intel signed an agreement where Apple will acquire the majority of Intel's smartphone modem business for $1 billion. 2,200 Intel employees will join Apple, along with intellectual property, equipment, and leases. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter (December) of 2019.
