The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade achieved the top rank in the Times Business-School Ranking 2026, highlighting its strong reputation in global trade and international business education. Established in 1963, the institute has played a significant role in developing skilled professionals for India’s trade and commerce sectors. With multiple campuses across India and plans to expand internationally through its first overseas campus in Dubai, the institute continues to strengthen its global presence. Its focus on trade policy, international business, and applied research has contributed to its recognition as a leading business school in the country.

Chhari-Dhand is an ecologically important wetland located in the Kutch region of Gujarat and has been recognised as the state’s fifth Ramsar site. The wetland supports rich biodiversity, including large populations of migratory birds as well as unique desert wildlife. Its designation as a Ramsar site highlights the importance of conserving wetlands that play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance, supporting migratory species, and sustaining local ecosystems. Along with Patna Bird Sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh, the inclusion of Chhari-Dhand reflects India’s growing commitment to wetland conservation and biodiversity protection.

The inauguration of India’s first Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Advocate Training and Research Centre took place in Navi Mumbai, specifically at Taloja. The centre has been established by the Maharashtra and Goa Bar Council with the objective of strengthening the legal profession by integrating legal education with practical courtroom training. The event was inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and attended by senior members of the judiciary. The centre is expected to play a key role in enhancing professional competence among advocates and honouring the legacy of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

The projects worth ₹1,715 crore were launched in Assam, highlighting a major push toward infrastructure and institutional development in the state. The foundation stone for the new Assam Legislative Assembly was laid in Dibrugarh, reinforcing its role as the second capital of Assam. The initiatives include sports infrastructure, housing for legislators, and a Wildlife Research Institute, reflecting a balanced focus on governance, development, and conservation. Emphasis was also placed on flood mitigation through wetland development, a critical issue for Assam, along with the potential boost to Assam’s tea exports through the India–EU Free Trade Agreement.

The 39th Surajkund International Atmanirbhar Crafts Mela is organized at Surajkund, which is located in Faridabad, Haryana. The event runs from January 31 to February 15, 2026, and serves as a major platform for promoting self-reliance through traditional crafts and cultural expressions. Faridabad’s proximity to Delhi makes it an ideal venue for attracting national and international visitors. The mela highlights rural artisanship, folk performances, ethnic cuisines, and cultural exchange, with special theme pavilions showcasing the crafts, heritage, and traditions of Uttar Pradesh and Meghalaya.
