The Token-Ring architecture was developed for a more efficient way to determine who should be transmitting at any one time. With Ethernet, collisions may take place, causing the transmitting computers to have to retransmit their data. The use of token guarantees that only one computer can transmit at a time. As per the question in both case (Ethernet and token ring) only one node can transmit data at a time so if the number of nodes gets increased the probability of collision will be high in Ethernet but in token ring it won't because in token ring the node will transmit data only after getting the token but in Ethernet career sensing is done and there if there are large number of nodes the distance between nodes increases and if distance increases efficiency decreases.
