Contention is the answer. The contention is the condition when two stations try to send packet simultaneously.

Collisions are a condition that arises when two or more data stations attempt to transmit at the same time over a shared channel, or when two data stations attempt to transmit at the same time in a half duplex communication link. A contention based channel access (multiple access) protocol is a protocol where data packet collisions may occur.

I think contention should be the answer. If it is a collision the messages collided will lose their information.

The answer should be option A contention as condition is used to transmit two packets over a medium at the same time is contention or Aloha in Random access method.

Yeah. Collision is the right answer because traffic occurs when two packets travel at a same time over the medium.
