What is the most significant difference between the USB and IEEE1394 standards?

IEEE 1394 is a standard name for FireWire. Like USB FireWire is also a communication port. It is faster than USB. But it is not widely used because all devices like keyboard, mouse, and others had been widely designed based on USB. However, USB has the problem of heating which may cause the circuit open. Firewire is a 6 pin port.

It is designed to support plug and play and hot swapping. Computer's FireWire (IEEE 1394) Connections. On a PC, the IEEE port (called FireWire) is used primarily for connecting audio or video devices to the console. An external scanner or disk drive may also use the IEEE port. Plug any IEEE device into the computer at any time.
