Sunlight depletes nutrients from the surface of the water in summer. So the growth of algae reduces so b correct. But the same time due to sunlight due to photosynthesis DO increase. But due to high temperature DO decrease. So option B is correct.

Impedes means delay or prevent. Algae grow in the dark areas. So algae can't grow in sunlight.
