The slow sand filters can remove turbidity to the extent of 50 PPM.
For water having greater turbidity than 60 PPM then it is required to give preliminary treatment.

For Slow sand Filter = 50mg/l.
For Rapid Sand filter = 35-40mg/l.
For Rapid Sand filter = 35-40mg/l.
