We measure rainfall in terms of depth so A is wrong and the same reason B is correct.
Option D is correct.
So, Option C is wrong as in hilly terrain self recording gauges are used like tipping bucket, natural syphon or float.

All three are correct except option (B) regarding non-recording rain gauges.
