Area increase--pressure increase---- but velocity decrease.

So, the Area depends upon size.

If the velocity decreases means sludge deposition occurs.

I don't think A is the correct answer since the same discharge velocity will be lower for sewers having a large cross-sectional as compared to high velocity for sewers with a smaller cross sectional area.
