Option (D) is correct.
As the size of the sewer increases, the velocity of the flow decreases because the flow is spread over a larger cross-sectional area.
This decrease in velocity can lead to the deposition of solids, as the flow may not be strong enough to carry the sediment through the sewer.
Therefore, in larger sewers, there is a higher likelihood of deposition taking place.

I don't think A is the correct answer since the same discharge velocity will be lower for sewers having a large cross-sectional as compared to high velocity for sewers with a smaller cross sectional area.

Larger the sewer means the pressure more and the velocity is less.
If the velocity is less means little more sludge deposition occurs.
So, D is the correct one.
If the velocity is less means little more sludge deposition occurs.
So, D is the correct one.

Area increase--pressure increase---- but velocity decrease.
So, the Area depends upon size.
If the velocity decreases means sludge deposition occurs.
So, the Area depends upon size.
If the velocity decreases means sludge deposition occurs.

Larger the sewer less will be its cleaning velocity so it's more to chances the deposition of material.

Area increases velocity decreases. If the velocity is high then no deposition takes place.

Larger the sewer. Larger the velocity and larger the deposition.
How? Explain it.

How to find area of sewer?
Here length is more. But area of sewer?
Here length is more. But area of sewer?
