T = L^1.15/51 H^0.385.
L= 8km >>>>>=8000m,
H= 12.4 m.
By solving, we get T=229 min =4 hours.
L= 8km >>>>>=8000m,
H= 12.4 m.
By solving, we get T=229 min =4 hours.

Kirpichs formula can also be used like this;
Tc= (0.00032L^0.77 )/S^0.385.
Tc= Time of concentration ( hr).
L= Maximum length of travel (m).
S= slope, H/L.
By using this formula we can get the correct answer, and km is converted into m.

It should be 3, here's why
Formula T = 0.0078 * L^.77 ÷ H^.385.
BY putting the value of L&H we can calculate,
The value of T,
T=2.99=3.

@Jaysukh.
Are you comparing potential energy with kinertienergy? How come 1/2 fraction is there? please explain.

We can consider break up- 1/2*12.4= 6.2, standard water velocity is 3 m/sec so that 6/3 =0.5 m/sec.

Here,
The potential Energy=m.g.h so, h=12.4 m. we can consider 1/2 *12.4=0.5,
0.5 m/sec under force of gravity run,
60*60=3600 sec*0.5 m/sec=1800 m.
1800/1000=1.8 km/hr.
Here 8 km/1.8 km/hr.
Ans. 4.44 hr. can say 4 hours.
