If fx = fy = normal stress = 100 MPa, txy = shear stress = 0.
Normal stress inclined at an angle 'a' with vertical, fa = (fx + fy)/2 + [(fx - fy)/2]*cos 2a - txy*sin 2a.
fa = (100+100)/2 + 0 + 0 = 100 MPa.
Ans is D.

Stress= 100 Cos2a+ 100 Sin2 a+2*0 cos a * Sin a.
= 100*(1.732/2)Square + 100* (1/2)Square +0.
= 100*3/4 +100 * 1/4,
= 100 N/mm2.
= 100*(1.732/2)Square + 100* (1/2)Square +0.
= 100*3/4 +100 * 1/4,
= 100 N/mm2.

sin30 = 100/BE.
