Shape factor = Mp/Me.
Shape factor for Rectangle - 0.5,
0.5 = Mp/Me.
0.5 = (L/2)/X (plastic moment form in L/2 Distance in SSB with central point load)
X = (L/2)/0.5,
X = L/(0.5*2),
X = L/3.

0.5 = Mp/Me.

The length of elastoplastic zone= L(1-1/S.F)=L(1-1/1.5) = L/3.
