.04% * 3 = 0.12%,
= (1/250)-(.12/100),
= (100-30)/250*100,
= 1/357.
= (1/250)-(.12/100),
= (100-30)/250*100,
= 1/357.

0.28÷ 100 and 1÷357 gives the same value.
Grade compensation value is in % so we are dividing 0.28 by 100.

@Nwibo Azubuike.
0.04 is the compensation value for B.G.
It is not the value taken from the Ruling Gradient (0.4).

Given ruling gradient = 1/250 * 100 = 0.4%.
Grade compensation for B.G = 0.04 * 3 = 0.12.
The permissible gradient = 0.4-0.12 = 0.28 that is 1/357.
Grade compensation for B.G = 0.04 * 3 = 0.12.
The permissible gradient = 0.4-0.12 = 0.28 that is 1/357.
