Taking U line equation = 0.9(WL-8).
= 0.9(45-8) = 33.3.

Hence above A-line we know its clay so by 33.3 it is between 30 to 50 liquid limit range.

Hence, it's Clay intermediate.

In a liquid limit test by Casagrande cup method, 15 blows were required at 60% water content, and 25 blows were required at 48% water content. Liquid limit of the soil is?

Please give the answer of it.

The liquid limit(wl) = 45%.
IP=0.73(wl-20)=0.73(45-20)=18.25 that means IP of soil> IP of A line=CI.

Ch please check the plasticity chart.

In plasticity chart, above a line for 45 % liquid limit is" CI". And below a line MI or OI.

In the graph above A-line CL CH & CI exist. But in the question liquid limit is 45% given which is lies in CI region and its liquid limit range is 35%-50%.

So the answer is (B).
