Answer is right.

Tape measurers 30m while having a error 0.01m short, that mean the actual measured length is 29.99m.

So positive cumulative error.

If 20 chain is too short by 1m.
the supposed it measures 40m(it is measured value),
true value because chain is short=(40-2=38),
error=M.V-T.V.
=40-38,
=+2.

Here, the correction is positive and the error is negative in cumulative in nature.

If the length of the chain is more, the measured distance will be less and hence the error will be negative.

The Length of a chain is short so the error will be negative and chain will also short for further measurements and error in only one direction so it will be a cumulative error so the answer is a negative cumulative error.

The answer C is correct because it is a cumulative error not compensating. The error will increase in only one direction and it finally accumulates so it is compensating in nature.

Answer c is correct.

If the chain is short then we will have much reading and thus measured length minus actual length will be a positive value.

And thus the answer is correct.

The chain is 0.01 m short the true length of chain decrease to 29.99.

In the concept, chain length decrease passive error acts option C is right.

Answer is C, because if the length of the chain gets short then we measured less value. Because noted down more value.

So, an error will be cumulative positive in nature and correction will be negative.
