Refer IS 456.
Clause 25.3(Slenderness limit of columns)
25.3.1 say that,
The unsupported length between end restraints shall not exceed 60 times the least lateral dimension of a column.
So as per is standard
60 * 1.5 = 9 m.
I hope all clear.

Unsupported length as per clause 25.3.1 is 60 times of its least Lateral dimension which is 60x15 = 900 cm = 9 m.

For short column.
lenth<3*least lateral dim.
Therfore, legth <3 * (15*20) = 900cm = 9m.

It should be 15*12 = 180 cm.
Lef/b< = 12 (short column).
Lef/b< = 12 (short column).
