@Vaibhav

(SQRT) The square root of 833.33/10 = 2.8867.

@Shambu.

How you got 833.33/100 = 2.88?

Shambhuu said:   7 years ago
@Chauhan.

√(833.33/100) = 2.88.

The Radius of gyration = SQRT (833.33/10) = 2.8867 cm.
how? because. 833.33/10 = 83.33.

S.r = L/r.
r = sqrt I/A ;( a x a3)/12 = a4/12 = ans ;a x a = ans ;a= 10 cm.
r = ans ' L =500 cm.

By applying this, you will get the answer.

Slenderness ratio = Length/Radius of gyration.

Radius of gyration = SQRT (I/A).

Moment of inertia (square) , I = b^4/12 = 10^4/12 = 833.33 cm4.

Area of square column = 10*10 = 100 cm2.

Radius of gyration = SQRT (833.33/10) = 2.8867 cm.

Therefore Slenderness ratio, L/Radius of gyration = 500/2.8867 = 173.2.
