Upper yield point is obtained just before yield plateau.
Here, Upper yield point is to initiate yielding and the constant line of yield plateau is that is required to continue it for mild steel cut.

Stress necessary to initiate yielding = Upper yielding point.
Stress that is necessary to continue yielding = Lower yielding point.
Upper Yield Point > Lower Yield point.
Stress that is necessary to continue yielding = Lower yielding point.
Upper Yield Point > Lower Yield point.

After initiation of the yielding strain increases with same stress value, also from the stress strain curve peak is obtain just before starting of yielding, upper yield point.
