According to me, 8 is right because
For cantilever l/b ratio = 7.
For simply supported l/b = 20.
For continuous l/b = 26.
For cantilever l/b ratio = 7.
For simply supported l/b = 20.
For continuous l/b = 26.

I think in this question depth (d) means overall depth. So the answer here is 12.
And for (span/effective depth) it is 7 for the Cantilever.
And for (span/effective depth) it is 7 for the Cantilever.
