In tubular section, the steel tube will act both as longitudinal and transverse reinforcement and also it can be fabricated easily and the connection can be made by keeping the diameter constant and by varying the thickness in case of increase in section dimensions.

Tubular circular section is preferred due to MINIMUM uniform radius of gyration throughout the diametrical axis (r min = max) is MAXIMUM.

It is I section from a flexural formula,
Bending is directly proportional to the distance from the neutral axis. THANKS.

Tubular sections are those sections which are hollow inside and made of steel, the shape may be circular or rectangular.

As we know that bucking load directly proportional to moment of inertia. So tubular section has max inertia.
