Black cotton soil (also known as Regur soil) is another type of cohesive soil. It is highly expansive and exhibits plasticity when wet, similar to clay. Black cotton soil has a high clay content, which gives it the cohesive properties of clays. It can swell when it absorbs water and shrink when it dries, making it quite reactive to moisture changes.
So, both Clay and Black cotton soil are cohesive soils.
So, both Clay and Black cotton soil are cohesive soils.

Both clay and black cotton soil are cohesive but the cohesiveness of black soil is higher than clay soil b/c the internal interlocking of soil particles in black cotton soil is weaker than that of clay.

Black cotton soil is also clay.
Clay is a form of 3 minerals illite kaolinite and montmorillonite in black cotton mont is max.
So, the black cotton soil is also a clay soil.

Guys all clays are not cohesive. There are soils having particle size less than 2 micro metre but having no cohesion. Whereas black cotton soil has cohesive properties.

Cohesive soil because its liquid limit is more than clay.
Liquid limit of clay - 40% to 150% but LL of black cotton soil is about 400 to 800%.

Black cotton soil contain high montmorillonite which has high swell and shinkage character give options black cotton is purely cohesive soil.

First of all, clay is not a cohesive soil it's only a c-phi soil. The best example of cohesive soil is undrained clay.

Description of cohesive soil only triggered from the value of liquid limit so, black cotton soil is the right option.

The black cotton soil is the correct answer.
It is a type of clay with most swells properties.
