Yes, it should be "increases".

Correct, Thanks @Nadeem Qadir.

When stress decreases void ratio, volume decreases and hence flow of water through soil (permeability) also decreases.

Answer D is absolutely correct.

The option states that WHEN STRESS DECREASES VOID RATIO, means because of stress, the void ratio has decreased so, K & Mv also decreases.

Answer D is correct.

"When stress decreases void ratio" i.e. if stress has to decrease void ratio stress should be increased.

If stress increases mv decreases as it is inversely proportional to stress increase. As k and mv are directly proportional, k also decreases if mv decreases.

I think option B is correct.

Av = e1-e2 / q1-q2

if q decrease then the coefficient of compressibility (Av) increases. and void ratio e = e1 - e2 decreases due to increase in stress

If Av increases then Mv = Av/1+e, Mv also increases.

then the permeability K = Cv . Mv . Yw if Mv increases then K also increases.
