We know that;
Seepage,
Q=kH(Nf/Nd)
where,
k = coefficient of permeability of the soil
H = Total head loss through the soil
Nf = number of flow channels
Nd = number of equipotential drops.
Therefore, seepage quantity is proportional to both coefficients of permeability of the soil and total head loss through the soil.

Total head loss means (pressure, velocity, datum head) but in so in mechanics we are not considering velocity head than how it is true? Answer please.

@Maveen kumar. Since the velocity of water in soil is very less, we usually neglect velocity head in soil engineering problems.

Q = K*H*NF/ND.
NF = NO OF FLOW LINES.
ND = NO OF POTENTIAL DROP.
K = PERMEABILITY OF SOIL.
H = HEAD LOSS.
NF = NO OF FLOW LINES.
ND = NO OF POTENTIAL DROP.
K = PERMEABILITY OF SOIL.
H = HEAD LOSS.

The difference in the head only helps for the rate of seepage, So, A is correct, but how is it D?

Q = kiA.
i = h/l.
Hence,
Q directly proportional to k.
Q directly proportional to h.
i = h/l.
Hence,
Q directly proportional to k.
Q directly proportional to h.

V = KI.
K = Permeability of soil.
I = dh/dz = Potential gradient.
V = Velocity.
K = Permeability of soil.
I = dh/dz = Potential gradient.
V = Velocity.

Option D is correct we are neglect velocity in problems only.
