How to get w1 ?

Suhas gotmare said:   8 years ago
W4 = 1500 w3=1600 w2 = 1600-1500 = 100,
W1=100-dry wt.
=100-20 = 80.
G = (100-80)/(1600-1500)*100 = 20%.

Give the formula to get the answer.

Let,
The empty weight of pycnometer = W1.
The empty weight of pycnometer + dry soil = W2.
The empty weight of pycnometer + dry soil + water = W3.
The empty weight of pycnometer + water = W4.

W1=p.
W2=p+200.
W3=1600.
W4=1500.

G = (W2-ww)/[(W4-W1)-(W3-W2)].
= (P+200-P)/[(1500-P)-(1600-P-200)].
= 200/[1500-P-1600+P+200] = 200/100 = 2.

Please, explain it in clear.

For oven dry test only the formula comes as,
W = (W2 - W3/W3 - W1) x 100.

What is the formula of this question?

Please explain it in clear.

G = 200/(200-(1600-1500)) = 2.

Gs = 200/(1500-(1600-200)) = 2.
