Can we solve from the dry unit wt formula?
Yd = Y/1+w.
w = (190 / 160) - 1.
w = 0.1875.
Yd = Y/1+w.
w = (190 / 160) - 1.
w = 0.1875.

Weight of water = 190-160 = 30 gms.
So water content = 30/160 = 1.1875 = 0.1875 = 0.188.
So water content = 30/160 = 1.1875 = 0.1875 = 0.188.

Total weight of soil - Dry weight wt of soil/Dry weight.
190-160/160 = 0.1875.
190-160/160 = 0.1875.

Bulk Density = Weight/Volume = 190/100 = 1.9g/cc.
Dry Density = Weight of solids/ Volume = 160/100 = 1.6g/cc.
Dry density = Bulk density/ (1+water content).
Water content = (1.9/1.6)-1.
Water content = 0.188 = 18.8%.
