The unsupported length between end restraints shall not exceed 60 times the least lateral dimension of a column.

LNG column is l/b greater than 12 or l/r greater than 40.

If slenderness ratio is lies between 12 - 60 then its short column. For greater than 60 it long or slender column.

Long column (l/b) > 12.
or (l/r) > 40.
l = Effective length.
r = Radius of gyration.
b = Least dimension.
l/r is slenderness ration and it should be > 40. So 50 is the answer.
or (l/r) > 40.
l = Effective length.
r = Radius of gyration.
b = Least dimension.
l/r is slenderness ration and it should be > 40. So 50 is the answer.

It is not mentioned 50 anywhere but only greater than 12 is for long column, so 50 is not the exact option.
